Commercial HVAC Lead Installer
SHAFER MECHANICAL is a family business that has been in South Texas for generations. Job Function:
- Install commercial HVAC equipment including RTUs, split systems, heat pumps, VRF systems, VAVs, and more
- Install commercial HVAC duct work including sheet metal, duct board, and flex
- Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical plans, and specifications
- Perform start-up assistance and verify proper system operation
- Use hand tools, power tools, meters, and specialty HVAC equipment safely
- Follow all safety protocols, jobsite procedures, and OSHA requirements
- Coordinate with project managers, foremen, and other trades on jobsite tasks
- Must have 5+ years of commercial HVAC Install experience.
- Must be able to lift at least 70 lbs. and must be willing/able to climb ladders.
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.

Commercial Inside Sales Representative

GENERAL POSITION OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the VP of the Commercial Division, the Commercial Inside Sales Rep performs a variety of specialized duties in the support of the Commercial Sales Team. Job responsibilities include receiving information from our field service team, sourcing parts and material, composing quotes and proposals and delivering to our customers. Key attributes include knowledge of commercial HVAC parts and equipment, service company office procedures, customer service, commercial service process flow, administrative follow up, etc.
TIME REQUIREMENTS
This position will require 40 hours per week and in person. 7:30am-4:30pm M-F
***This position is required to participate in the Emergency & Holiday On-Call Rotation (Shafer Services On-Call Policy).
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES — Including, but not limited to:
- Locate and source parts and material from a multitude of vendors
- Obtain vendor and/or subcontractor quotes
- Create proposals and detailed scope of work
- Generate Purchase Orders
- Work closely with department managers and coordination team
- Track open orders and delivery ETA
- Shipping and receiving
- Warranty submission
- Updating and maintaining an active backlog
- Reviewing maintenance logs for potential sales opportunities
- Provide input for and actively work to achieve and maintain a healthy positive work environment. Display professionalism and serve as a role model. (i.e., promptness, positive attitude, work volume, professional behavior)
- Interact with “ALL” departments in order to resolve any pending issues in a positive professional manner
- Understanding of company capabilities and service, and effectively communicates all offerings to the client
- Answer and take the appropriate action for ALL calls
- Monitor, distribute and/or respond to any emails received in the company mailboxes
- Ensure that all processes and procedures are completed, quality standards are met, and customer sites are updated within the set customers’ expectations
- Resolve client issues efficiently, updating systems and informing the appropriate Service Manager of unresolved issues
- Create weekly status reports of inside sales backlog, ETAs for critical parts, and identify potential areas of concern that need attention including suggested resolutions
DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2+ years Customer Service Experience (Service Business Environment)
- High School Diploma or G.E.D. required
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook
- Sales experience is required
- Organized and Process/ Detail Oriented
- Positive Attitude
- Strong written, verbal, and listening communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- HVAC/Mechanical industry experience is required
- Service Titan experience is a plus
