WINE CELLAR STORAGE TIPS
- Avoid temperature shocks. Rapid changes from cool to warm can damage wine.
- Don’t allow direct sunlight or fluorescent lighting to reach wine bottles. Shaded wine is less likely to spoil.
- Store wine bottles horizontally. This prevents the cork from drying out and stops air from getting into the bottle.
- Don’t remove and replace a chilled bottle of wine if possible. Temperature fluctuations will eventually break the wine down.

Through-the-wall units
- When residual heat and noise is vented into an adjacent room.
Ductless split systems
- Uses a slimline evaporator/fan mounted in the cellar to vent the heat and noise from the condenser which is located either indoors or outdoors.
Self-contained units
- Utilizes a self-contained air handler to remove all heat and noise from the cellar, leaving the cellar silent and fitted with a humidification/dehumidification unit
Ducted split systems
- These systems remove all components from the cellar and into an adjacent room.
